Each year, PFAA's scholarship programme brings in a new cohort of exceptional young Malaysians who might otherwise never have crossed paths. This year's group is one of the most diverse yet — thirteen states represented, and fields ranging from public health to renewable energy engineering.
What ties them together isn't their background, but their approach to ambition. Every scholar we interviewed described wanting to bring their expertise back to a public mission, whether that's rural healthcare access or energy policy reform.
The cohort's first orientation week focused less on lectures and more on relationship-building — deliberately mixing scholars from different fields and states into project teams from day one.
It's early days for this cohort, but if the track record of previous scholarship classes is any indication, we'll be featuring several of them in Alumni Spotlight pieces of their own within the next few years.
