PFAA believes that constructive exchange of ideas is the cornerstone for nation-building. Our programmes are aimed at mainstreaming ideas and ambitions of Malaysia's next leaders by connecting them with the leaders of today.
Youth Economic Forum
Recognising the need to mainstream their ideas PFAA launched the Youth Economic Forum (YEF) in 2016 regarded as "the Davos for young Malaysians", drawing inspirations from the World Economic Forum.
This annual flagship forum brings together young Malaysian professionals to engage in open, intellectual and meaningful discussions on Malaysia's evolving economic landscape. Some of the major themes covered by YEF include poverty eradication, harnessing green economy, driving digital economy and building a future-ready workforce, among others.
Climate Finance Summit
Aiming to kickstart pertinent conversations about the funding gap, PFAA launched the inaugural Climate Finance Summit (CFS) in 2023 and brought together experts, policy makers, financiers and businesses to explore climate financing options and better understand the policies and regulations in place.
Some of the key themes covered at CFS include scaling-up private sector climate financing, empowering SMEs to adopt ESG practices and the relevance of carbon border adjustment mechanism.
CFS has featured around 40 speakers to make a difference.
Have successfully participated in our programmes.
PFAA Speaker Series
PFAA has also hosted the Speaker Series for young professionals to engage in critical, fact-based discourse with prominent leaders.
The Speaker Series are held in casual settings and is our most frequently organised event to date.
Past sessions have featured a distinguished lineup of leaders, including Royals, Prime Ministers, Ministers and Corporate Executives. Some of the notable figures include:
PFAA Scholar Series
In collaboration with sponsoring organisations and universities, we organise talk series and networking sessions, where these institutions, along with alumni, present directly to increase awareness and share best practices. Alumni who have benefited from these opportunities also return to share their experiences and offer guidance to other PFAA members aspiring to follow similar paths.
The PFAA Scholar Series has highlighted programmes such as the Chevening Scholarship, Fulbright Scholar Programme, Schwarzman Scholars Programme and opportunities from institutions like Harvard University, the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and Yayasan Khazanah.
Other Programmes
The PFAA Gives Back projects include food aids distribution to vulnerable communities during Covid-19 restrictions, assisting flood relief efforts and more recently, uplifting B40 school students in Kuala Lumpur through digital literacy, among others.
Additionally in 2024, PFAA initiated the Public Policy Roundtable where young Malaysians participated in public policy development workshops and pitched policy proposals for the Malaysia they aspire to build.
Following this, PFAA conveys these policy aspirations to respective government ministers to contribute to policy developments, linking Malaysia's leaders of today with those of tomorrow
